Family Guy: 5 Reasons It Was A Huge Mistake To Kill Brian Griffin

1. He Was Actually The Best Character

Family Guy Brian Griffin Wallpaper Whether you find yourself identifying with Brian the most (God forbid you'd identify with any of the other Family Guy characters), or you find him plainly irritating (most failed writers are, right?), it has to be said: Brian Griffin was the show's best character, whether we realised it at the time or not. I don't think I really did until I woke up this morning and found out the writers had squashed him under a car. The loss of this character might not seem like such a big deal, but - for me, at least - it just lacks any kind of respect the show has for itself or its fans. "Killing off a character" is only necessary when it's... well, necessary. What late stage game does Family Guy think it's playing? Bringing in a replacement dog, too, seems like a last ditch effort to bring something "new" to the show for the sake of it - but couldn't the writers have done that without erasing such an integral part of Family Guy's format? Many will claim that people are overacting with all this "How dare they kill Brian?" stuff, but it's not just about that: Brian was a friend, and he had been for a long time. Ultimately, I'm just sad to see him go. Like this article? Agree or disagree? Let us know in the comments section below.
