20. Stuck Together, Torn Apart

Family Guy 20Season: 3 Episode: 19 Original Air Date: January 31st, 2002 We start off with the Griffins at a Sam's Club or Costco-like warehouse club, where Stewie tries to eat some industrial strength glue, only for Brian to catch him in the act and stop him. Unfortunately, they become stuck together because of the adhesive, and it looks like they're holding hands. The other storyline in the episode involves Peter's growing jealousy over Lois going out for coffee with her ex-boyfriend, Ross Fishman. Lois says they're merely old friends catching up on old times, but Peter doesn't believe her, so he uses Joe's police surveillance equipment to spy on them. With Lois thinking it's alright for her to see her exes, Peter feels it must be alright for him to do the same, and he looks up his ex-girlfriends, trying to upset Lois, who suggests they attend counseling. Their counselor suggests a trial separation, where they will date other people. Lois goes on a date with Quagmire, while Peter goes on a date with actress Jennifer Love Hewitt (she actually does the voice work for herself). Their dates find them dining at the same restaurant at the same time, and they discover that they're both insanely jealous when they see their spouse with someone else, leading to Lois and JLH having a fight in the restaurant. Lois and Peter leave with each other, rekindling their marriage, while Quagmire orders a "roofie colada" from the bar and takes JLH home with him. Brian and Stewie send away for a solvent that will get them unstuck, but it will take days to arrive. After a tense few days of being stuck together, the solvent finally arrives, and they're able to get their hands unstuck. After all that time together, though, they figure they might as well just hold hands on their walk home, which they do.
