19. New Kidney In Town

Family Guy 19Season: 9 Episode: 8 Original Air Date: January 9th, 2011 This is one of those episodes that took an emotional twist, which could have led to a really emotional twist had it played out differently. Peter becomes addicted to drinking Red Bull, and he enjoys the benefits that drinking it provides him. He drinks more and more and more of it, and Lois becomes fed up over his addiction, so she throws the rest of his Red Bull stash out. Instead of going to buy more, Peter decides he's going to make his own Red Bull, but he includes kerosene as one of the ingredients, drinks it, and causes his kidneys to fail. Peter finds out that he needs a kidney transplant, but has to undergo dialysis while he waits to be placed on a transplant list. He skips one round of dialysis, thinking that it won't hurt him, but he begins to vomit blood and is placed right back in the hospital. The Griffins find out that they need to give up one of their kidneys to Peter to save his life. Lois volunteers, but she isn't a match, and she doesn't want her children to be involved in giving up a kidney. Brian volunteers, and it is discovered that he is a match. However, due to a dog's kidneys being much smaller than the human versions, Brian would need to donate both of his for Peter to make it... which, of course, means Brian would be sacrificing his own life. Brian agrees, anyway, saying that Peter saved his life by bringing him into the family, so it's time that he return the favor. Adorably, Stewie kidnaps Brian so that Brian won't have to go through with the transplant, but Brian convinces him that he needs his father much more than he needs his dog, but when they arrive at the hospital, they find that someone else has already donated a kidney to Peter. His life is saved, and Brian's life is spared. Everyone is happy, including the viewers, who weren't ready for Brian to die after such a touching moment with Stewie.
