Family Guy: 50 Best Episodes

43. No Meals On Wheels

Family Guy 43Season: 5 Episode: 14 Original Air Date: March 25th, 2007 This was another episode that saw many people complain that the writers may have gone too far with some of their jokes, this time about the physically handicapped. There are always going to be critics and those who feel that they're offended by what they see on television, but MacFarlane and company don't really seem to care. They cater to a fan base that enjoys that kind of controversial material. In this episode, Peter opens up a restaurant (Big Pete's House Of Munch), and the restaurant was a success at the start, largely in part to Joe Swanson and the rest of his fellow wheelchair-bound patrons. Peter took offense to this, and didn't want to be seen as the owner of an establishment that had those types of people all over the place. The following war between Joe and Peter was hilarious from the start, and it just got funnier as it went on. It helped to make the physically handicapped look strong, as they battled Peter, who is, for all intents and purposes, mentally handicapped. Much like South Park's epic "Cripple Fight" episode, this war was offensive, spiraling out of control, but always... always... funny.
