Fargo’s 10 Most Savage Deaths Ranked

1. Grim Gus Grimly ("Morton's Fork")

Gus is just super nice and friendly as heck. However, he’s not the best police officer. He’s not one to stick his neck out. He’s raising a young daughter alone and just can’t risk making her an orphan.

When Gus stops the murderous Lorne Malvo for speeding, Malvo psyches him out. Fear gets the best of him, and Malvo departs. The decision haunts Gus, but that’s that. He later quits the force and becomes a postal worker, which was his dream job anyway.

The following year, Malvo is back and the bodies start piling up again. Deputy Molly Solverson, Gus’s pregnant wife, is in pursuit. Gus’s fear returns, but it’s different. Before, Gus worried about the predator hurting him. Now it’s after Molly, and fear or not, Gus can’t back down.

He discovers Malvo’s hideout and lies in wait. When the hitman stumbles home, grievously wounded, Gus is there, gun drawn. They exchange a few words, but Gus cuts the conservation short, brutally firing several rounds into Malvo’s chest and head, making sure the threat is good and dead.
