Fargo Season 3: 8 Things We Already Know
2. It's Tangentially Related To The Other Seasons
The great thing about Fargo is that you never feel like you're watching the same things happen twice. There's always snow, there's always crime, and there's always somebody saying "Yah", but since each season is an anthology that focuses on different stories and characters, you always walk away with something unique each time. It looks like the same will be true of season three, which will not only be thematically related to its predecessors, but may also contain more concrete reference to seasons one and two.
In a conversation with EW, Hawley said: “There are going to be connections, the way the first year was connected to the movie and the second year was connected to the first, but I think part of the fun is figuring that stuff out and I wouldn’t want to take that away from anybody,” he said. “There will be definitely things that connect to something in our story.”
FX president John Landgraf has also weighed in on the subject: "As far as I know there is one [character] returning. That doesn't mean Noah might not change his mind and there might not be more."
It's unlikely that we'll see Molly Solverson show up to play a huge role this time around, or countless MCU-style nods and winks to Fargo's history, but considering the geography shared by all three seasons, it makes sense that recent events will have something of an impact on whatever grizzly goings on occur in season three.
