This will be the battle cry of the Farscape fans as far as the film is concerned. With such unexpected news (there were even suggestions that it was an April fool when the rumours first started circulating), then can only naturally want what ever fan of a television series wants more of their television series! The creators must be aware of this, and ultimately it must be their hope that the interest around the film could spark a potential series on Syfy. So dont expect the film to be a closed story much like the recent Veronica Mars film, which started up plot threads but never finished them off, obviously in the hope that they could be followed up in the episodes of a new series. That Farscape fan with their Star Trek line will be praying now to see that Farscape: The Next Generation (obviously not a title they would go with) might yet get made. Just over ten years have passed since the cancellation, and it is now the perfect time for some resurgence in interest in what was a really brilliant science fiction show. Is in any coincidence that this is roughly the same timescale between the cancellation of the original series of Star Trek and the creation of Star Trek: The Motion Picture? Maybe but it wont stop the fans from dreaming of being able to watch Farscape: Deep Space Nine in 15 years time. Its time for a new science fiction franchise to emerge.
