Fear The Walking Dead: 10 Mistakes The Show Can't Afford

2. Must Not Be Afraid To Pull Out A Game-Changer

Based on very little information other than a couple of teaser trailers and a handful of screenshots, a predictable storyline would be: 'Disjointed family unites to survive. Panic spreads across the city as the population struggles to flee the outbreak. Their goal is to get out... Alive.' That's your bare-bones plot, right there. Now, Fear writers, mess it up. Blow a hole straight through what people 'expect' and deploy a game-changer in Season 1. Make people feel like the story is going one way, before tearing the script up and starting again. The first season finale will be a huge challenge, and one that could define the series. If it's looking safe and similar to TWD, the whole thing fails. The writers have been brave in TWD, now they need to be equally bold, equally brash, and equally ruthless. Kill off the main character, make the government the enemy, finally reveal the cause of the outbreak (no matter what Robert Kirkman tells the press).
