7. Virginia
Virginia’s reign as leader of the Pioneers was a strong addition to the show. With her tight-fisted control over our group of survivors and after shooting Morgan in his chest, she was certainly an antagonist to be feared.
As Morgan regains his control and captures Virginia, he intends to behead her in front of all the different groups she had wronged as a sign for a new start. However, after a powerful speech, Morgan elects to evict Virginia with her newly revealed daughter, Dakota, to the wasteland for a fair deal.
Taking the deal, we see Virginia speak with Dakota and complying with any orders given. As the episode comes to a close, however, June enters the holding barn and assassinates Virginia. Ruining what Morgan fought for moments before, as the stone-faced widow walks away from Morgan’s sanctuary with distress accumulating behind her.
