Fear The Walking Dead: 6 Reasons To Be Excited

5. It'll Explore The Early Days

Save the early explanation of how Rick got into his coma and a flashback here and there throughout its run, The Walking Dead has taken place exclusively in a world already ruled by the dead. Fear, on the other hand, will be turning back the clock to dive headlong into its exploration of a world in the midst of being turned upside down.

With people going about their daily lives as rumors and reports begin surfacing of the dead rising, Fear has the chance to show how the world reacts when things begin going down. From the influence of social media to the general dismissive apathy people tend to feel when they perceive that things don't affect them - until, in fact, it does -  Fear can break down the early days of the outbreak in a way that the original show can't.

Nearly four million people live in Los Angeles and Fear can take advantage of that fact. When one's coworkers, neighbors, friends and family are being killed and/or turning, how can they find the time to grieve or focus in an environment where most people will instinctively be out for themselves and danger from the living and dead can be mere feet away at every second? Society will crumble, and Fear will finally shed some light for fans to see how such a thing happened.
