Though those early days will, as mentioned, explore how the world fell into the state we've seen it become in The Walking Dead, those behind the show have already gone on record that the origin of the outbreak itself won't be revealed, leaving one of the franchise's biggest mysteries still up in the air.

Beyond that, however, Fear will be unable to avoid some of the questions many fans have had. While the early days of the outbreak provide fertile ground for storytelling, it can touch upon bigger picture questions in the process: What happened to the media? The Internet? Government structure? The military?

With reports coming in from other cities, Fear can even tackle the outbreak's progression throughout the rest of the world before everything goes dark, giving fans somewhat of a clearer picture on how everything began to crumble through the eyes and ears of everyday people reliant on the media.

On a smaller scale, it can even tackle the types of things people like to debate about when they place themselves in such a theoretical situation. Can people really put the ocean to their back and make a stand? What happens if you're at work or school or lounging at home and walkers attack?  Would some video gamers' beliefs that they "could totally survive something like that if it happened" actually be true?
