The main protagonists of the series will be Sean Cabrera, a divorced teacher, and Nancy Tomkins, a guidance counsellor. Cabrera is described as a good man, trying to do right by everyone in his life. The description of Tomkins states that shes a single mom with two kids, and looks like the girl next door but with an edge to her. Cabrera is set to be played by Cliff Curtis, known outside of New Zealand mostly for roles in films such as Blow and Three Kings, and the TV show Trauma, while Gone Girl and House of Cards actress Kim Dickens will take on the part of Tomkins. The rest of the cast includes Frank Dillane (young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince); Alycia Debnam-Carey (The 100); Mercedes Mason (Chuck); and Orange Is The New Blacks Elizabeth Rodriguez. Dillane and Debnam-Carey will be playing Tomkins two children Nick - who is battling a drug addiction - and Ashley, while the roles of Mason and Rodriguez are currently unknown. The Walking Dead is known for having a large cast, one that regularly changes as characters are killed off at will but also expands with each season, and indeed fleshing out all of these characters is something the show has struggled with. While youd expect more additions to the cast of FTWD, keeping it smaller and with a narrower focus, especially in the first season, is probably a wise move.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
