Fear The Walking Dead: Everything You Need To Know

2. Early Reviews

With Fear The Walking Dead being just a week or so away from airing its pilot episode, a number of entertainment outlets have managed to get their hands on the first couple of episodes, and those early reactions have now started to appear online. Variety described it as being "more a snack than a feast," adding that Curtis and Dickens were "left to dine on a too-thin gruel." The Hollywood Reporter states that the first couple of episodes, without the walkers properly in place, are "more of a traditional drama," but admits that there is some potential there. That sense of potential is picked up on by io9, who offer a more optimistic report of the pilot, saying: "What you do get is the sense that something huge, sprawling, and nightmarish is on the horizon." EW gave it a B- rating, saying that "it keeps repeating the same old tropes, expecting to give us a different kind of zombie show," while the show currently has a 67% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
