Fear The Walking Dead Season 2: 10 Things That Must Happen Next

3. Keep The Focus On Nick

Fear The WAlking Dead
AMC

Speaking of Nick, he is not just the centre of this episode; he's the best thing in the entire show.

The character has had the best arc over the past season-and-a-half, from junkie to a braver, more heroic type of figure, and now someone suffering with a whole new addiction: the undead. His penchant for covering himself in blood and guts is coupled with a steadfast belief that he cannot die, and it makes him the most fascinating to watch on the series (helped by Frank Dillane's charisma), and different to anyone else in this universe.

While developing the other characters and telling other stories is important, the show could also do with further realising that Nick is the star of it. He's the one people are becoming most invested in, and the one with the most potential to become its true leader. Not every episode needs to put its sole focus on him - in fact, that would be the wrong approach, given the work necessary with the likes of Alicia and Ofelia - but it does need to start centring the show around him more, as he's capable of leading it for however long it may last, and there are many different directions they could choose to explore with him.
