According to the grapevine the first season of The Flash will not only cherry pick from the character's comic book rogues gallery - apparently the self-explanatory Pied Piper will also be popping up - but also from the villains of other characters, with Arrow nemesis The Clock King due an appearance soon, and the gaseous Kyle Nimbus from episode three is traditionally a Starman enemy. Nimbus (aka Mist, for obvious reasons) is the weirdest bad guy to show up so far, but it's going to get a whole lot weirder from here. Not all the bad guys Barry goes up against are necessarily going to be metahumans. As signposted by a busted cage and name tag in the pilot, another beneficiary of the superpowered lightning strike was a gorilla named Grodd kept at STAR Labs. Yep, Gorilla Grodd. The super-intelligent talking ape who fights The Flash all the time in the comics. "Like, I can't believe Gorilla Grodd's gonna be in a 'Flash' TV show," says writer Geoff Johns. "That's insane. Like, I say it out loud and I still think it's insane. But that's what we want to do; we want to break new ground." So it's deffo happening. Amazing.
