8. Charlie Wheeler

Charlie was a palaeontology professor who met Ross at the NYU campus and hit it off with him right away. She came back to a roof party at the apartment, which led to her developing a relationship with Joey before Ross could try himself.
Ultimately, Charlie played a significant role romantically, as her relationship with Joey and eventual feelings for Ross became a big source of conflict and a very awkward situation.
However, the character was much more than a romantic interest, as she was intelligent, funny and easy to watch. Her interactions with the other characters came across were always amusing as she had great chemistry with everyone.
