Friends: 10 Greatest Ever Guest Stars

2. Bruce Willis

While filming the comedy The Whole Nine Yards in 2000, Matthew Perry was convinced the movie would win the box office in its opening week and so he made a bet with his costar Bruce Willis. If the film was No. 1, Willis, who was already scheduled to be a guest star on Friends, would agree to appear for free. It did, and Willis made good, donating his fee to charity. On the show Willis plays Paul Stevens, the highly eccentric father of Ross's then-girlfriend Elizabeth. Paul takes an instant dislike to his daughter's boyfriend, stating the reason for this as being the age gap between her and him. He is seemingly impossible for Ross to please and brazenly crude, rude and abrasive towards him at all times. This all comes to a head when, after a bizarre series of events, Ross overhears Paul talking to himself (convincing himself that he's a "neat" guy) in the mirror and singing "Love Machine"; Ross see's this as the perfect opportunity to blackmail Paul into accepting his relationship with his daughter. Willis went on to win a much deserved Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role.
