In one of the many flashback episodes, we find out that when Monica and Ross ended up at the same college party, they ended up sharing a kiss. Ross mistook Monica for Rachel in the dark coat room, and Monica chalked it up to a mystery man who found her in the dark. This was beyond disturbing, and somehow we doubt that Ross and Monica wouldn't mistake each other for anyone other than their own sibling.
