Friends: 10 Reasons Why Ross Is The Worst Person Ever
3. Saying The Wrong Name At The Altar
Season four of Friends was pretty good, even if it was sullied by Emily (Helen Baxendale). Emily wasn't a great character, really. She was mostly forgettable and her relationship with Ross seemed to have been put in place to mess things up between Ross and Rachel.
All of that aside, NO ONE deserves what Ross did to her on her wedding day. Up at the altar, getting married, Ross seems to zone out and replaces Emily's name with Rachel's in their vows. In front of her entire family, it should be added.
It's a harsh twist in an otherwise lackluster story, in which Ross is without question the bad guy. Later, when he convinces Rachel to go on his honeymoon with him only for Emily to see, it only hammers home the fact that Ross isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to dealing with his mistakes.
The writers tried to sweep this under the rug in season five by making Emily an unreasonable and controlling estranged wife, but none of it takes away from Ross's nasty faux pas.
