Friends: 10 Reasons Why Ross Is The Worst Person Ever
2. His Neglect Of Rachel And Her Career
This has already been kind of touched on earlier in the list, in regards to Ross's jealousy of Mark. But that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Ross's issues with Rachel's job.
At its centre, bookending the entire show, is Rachel's brilliant character development from spoiled runaway bride to successful, independent woman with a child and a great career. She suffers some obstacles along the way, the biggest of which is Ross - the one person who needed to support her every step of the way and put her feelings first.
But he never does this. In season three, he gets upset because she's spending so much time at work, and tries a romantic gesture by invading her office and setting up a Valentine's meal. He later tells Rachel that her new career is "just a job" and the two decide (by Rachel's request) to take a break.
Much later, in season ten, Ross realises he loves Rachel and tries to stop her moving to Paris for her new job by bribing her old boss to give her more money and benefits, without talking to Rachel about his feelings or her actual thoughts on the move.
It's a series of selfish events, in which Ross constantly puts his own feelings first and often refuses to take Rachel's career and lifestyle choices seriously, simply because they don't suit what he wants from her.
