3. The One Where They're On A Break

He loved her. She loved him. They were on. They were off. They were on...a break. On. Off. Pregnancy, baby, and finally, she got off the plane. Ross and Rachel is the definitive sitcom relationship, hooking viewers for a decade with their will they/won't they, on-again/off-again drama, and pretty much every sitcom since has attempted in some way or another to have their own Ross and Rachel scenario. While it may have been a defining point of the show, and TV in general, there was a pretty simple explanation behind the drama, as revealed by James Burrows during the special: "It€™s the same as Sam and Diane . They flirted for a lot longer, but you have to shake it up.€ If you don€™t fight, and if you don€™t get angry, you have no place to go."
