One of the long-running urban legends that has sprung up concerning Friends, and specifically the cast, is that right at the very beginning they had to sign contracts stating they wouldn't sleep with each other. The reasoning is that they didn't want any behind-the-scenes drama complicating things or getting in the way of them accurately portraying a group of friends. When asked about this by host Andy Cohen, there was a bit of an awkward silence, before Lisa Kudrow prompted David Schwimmer to say something. His response was one sure to send the rumour-mill into overdrive and Friends fans into a frenzy, as he quipped: "Well, that was broken." Kudrow then followed that up by pouring cold water on talk of any actual contract, stating that she "was not asked to sign anything like that."
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
