Friends: The Best Episode From Every Season

In season eight - the last truly good season of the show, if we're being honest - Rachel is handed a curveball when she becomes pregnant after a night with Ross. For the most part, her pregnancy is played for laughs, but in The One with the Baby Shower she's given the chance to dramatically confront her new life.

At her baby shower, hosted by Monica and Phoebe, she realises how dangerously unprepared for motherhood she really is, and agrees to let her overbearing but caring mother live with her and Ross once the baby comes.

Alongside this, Ross and Chandler help Joey prepare his audition for an inexplicable gameshow called Bamboozled, which causes the pair to show their competitive side with a game that's hilariously never properly explained. The episode is a great balancing act of tones, and it ends with a surprisingly poignant farewell.
