Futurama: 10 Best Zoidberg Moments
8. Zoidberg Bonds With His Godson Cubert
Given Professor Hubert’s carelessness as a parental figure, it’s not really surprising he chose Zoidberg to be the godfather of his genetically made son Cubert Farnsworth. The two are left alone whilst the rest of the Planet Express crew live on an abandoned planet in solitude. It starts off tense between the two as Zoidberg offers him a meal of boiled baseball gloves, and Cubert responds by telling him to go to hell. Ouch!
Cubert later feels remorseful and apologizes to Zoidberg, explaining he lashes out because he gets bullied a lot, using insults as a defence mechanism. During the conversation, they are met with one of Cubert’s enemies who is about to attack them.
Zoidberg saves them both by acting so pathetic that the bully decides they are not worth his time. Out of new found respect, Cubert joins the crustacean in his dumpster home to share a stepped-on pound cake together.
The bond between the two is short-lived though because by the end of the episode, it’s actually Zoidberg who claims to be seriously sick of looking after Cubert. Imagine being so annoying that even Zoidberg would grow tired of you?
