6. Fry Could Already Fly The Planet Express Ship

Ever since he came to the future, Fry has been pretty much in love with Leela from the get-go. Well, what self-respecting nerd hasn’t? Just about every 'final' episode so far has revolved around their relationship, but it took a lot of work to get to where they spent their lives together on a frozen Earth.

In season three, Fry kept getting rejected by Leela, without her so much as giving him even a chance. This led to him trying bigger and bigger gestures to earn her love, from buying and opening champagne, to actually moving the stars themselves for her.

In between these two ends of the spectrum came the fact that he had learned to fly the Planet Express ship. It’s kind of romantic, in that he was taking an interest in what Leela did, but the problem is that he definitely already knew how to fly it.

In ‘The Cryonic Woman’, Fry, Bender, and Leela all got fired from Planet Express after the former two took the ship for a spin and destroyed just about everything. The pilot on that fateful day was Philip J. Fry, a full season before he apparently learned how to fly the ship solely to impress Leela.

This standard nerd combines the looks of Shaggy with the brains of Scooby, has an unhealthy obsession with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is a firm believer that Alter Bridge are the greatest band in the world.
