Futurama: 10 Worst Episodes

"That wasn't really a story..."

Futurama is recognised the world over as the funniest sci-fi cartoon in television history, combining high-value comedy with scientific accuracy and social commentary. It may not have run as long as the Simpsons, but Futrama has a fan base that is just as loyal and vocal (if not more). In fact, the show was so popular that even cancelling it twice couldn't kill it, leading to the creation of seven high-quality, if sporadically produced, seasons. Everyone knows that Futurama is full of incredible, and award-winning, episodes. The show's high level of quality means that many of the least popular stories are merely those that are average or forgettable. These less memorable episodes are the ones that fans will skip over during their annual Futurama marathon, and the first ones that will get erase to make room for new episodes of the Goldbergs. However, like any long-running show, there are going to be some episodes that not only fall flat, but that are actually terrible. There have been some moments where Futurama really dropped the ball, creating stories that were cheap, manipulative, or just plain creepy. In some cases it€™s because of a plot twists that made the audience uncomfortable. In others, the stories focused on a character who wasn€™t engaging enough to carry twenty-two minutes of plot by themselves. Or maybe the story was just plain boring. Here are the ten episodes that failed across the board, from poorly written dialogue and bad characterisation to plots that ranged from dull to utterly incomprehensible.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
