If only that was the only time Fry completely ignored the feelings of Leela, however Futurama is littered with such things. He previously didn’t care that she was the only one of her species and one of the loneliest people on the planet, and when there was a glimmer of hope for her, he still didn’t care.

When the crew showed Fry how to play video games on the internet, it turned out he was pretty good. Of course he was, that’s basically all he did in the 20th century, but with that skill seemingly came a competitive streak rarely otherwise seen in the show. He made his way through the crew during the VR game, killing everyone until a final showdown with Leela.

Again, at the time, Leela was thought to be the only one-eyed alien in the entire galaxy, so you would have thought that seeing a one-eyed alien in the game that wasn’t Leela would have at least made Fry pause. This wasn’t the case, as he killed Alcazar and sent him packing from the game instantly.

Yes, he turned out to be a lying jerk, but Fry didn’t know that at the time. As far as he, or anyone else was concerned, Leela had the chance to finally find out who she was and where she came from, and Fry potentially destroyed it just to win a video game.
