Futurama: 10 Worst Things Fry Ever Did

9. He Ignored Leela's Loneliness

In fairness to Fry, he had every right to feel lonely in the year 3000. He had unexpectedly been shot through time a thousand years into the future, and had the bleak realisation that he would never see his family or friends ever again. He may have celebrated at first, but the life he knew was gone.

What he didn’t have any right to however, was thinking that somehow his loneliness trumped anyone else’s. Sure, he might have expected people to feel sympathy for him, but outright demanding it on Xmas was crossing the line, particularly with Leela.

Fry might have been sent away from his family, but at least he had a family. He at least had had 20-something years of belonging, of parents, and even though they weren’t perfect, they were more than Leela had ever known.

At the time, it was believed that she was the only one of her species in the entire universe. No parents to speak of, no family at all, and yet Fry demanded that SHE feel sorry for HIM. He bought her a parrot as a way of an apology, and though Leela ultimately forgave him, it was a pretty pathetic showing.
