Futurama: 15 Obscure Easter Eggs & References You Probably Missed

1. Pazuzu

In Teenage Mutant Leela€™s Hurdles, we meet a demon called Pazuzu, who is bound to grant the Professor three wishes. Pazuzu is known as the king of the demons of the wind in Assyrian and Babylonian mythology, and it's also the name of the demon in The Exorcist. But here, this name is likely a reference to the French graphic novel series The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec, where Pazuzu is a demon of the Eiffel tower. We even see Pazuzu next to the Eiffel tower in this last scene of the episode. That's what's so cool about Futurama: it can reference popular works of literature that we're all familiar with, and then it can also reference a more obscure French comic book and trust that we're smart enough to pick up on it. Which other obscure references have you spotted in Futurama? Share your favourites below in the comments thread.
