Good news everyone! Could Matt Groening's seminal sci-fi series find a new home on Disney+?

In a recent Syfy WIRE interview with veteran voice actor Maurice LaMarche, Futurama fans got some good news as he revealed that the Futurama cast all wish to do a reboot of the series. LaMarche, who provided the voice of many side characters on the series, including Kif Kroker, explained the cast's want for a revival. He said in the interview:

"Sure, we all talk about it. If Fox was to come up with the right offer, but I know Matt would love to do it again. David Cohen, I think, might be into it. I think semi-retirement is finally wearing on him. He had to get back to writing on The Simpsons just to keep busy."

As LaMarche said in the interview, this wouldn't the first time fans have faced a potential reboot as the show has already been rebooted multiple times in the past, as films, podcasts, and even a continuation of the series on Comedy Central. However, given the fact that Disney, who had recently bought Fox, is already rebooting various Fox owned properties... could we be seeing a Futurama reboot in the near future? Only time will tell.

Of course if Disney or Fox (now 20th Television) wish to revive the series with the original cast, they may wish to hurry. LaMarche continued:

"I have to leave it up to the Powers That Be, but I know everybody’s into it, including the cast. It would be great to do it before Billy West turns 80. So hopefully someday there’ll be a Futurama reboot, but we’re well-practiced at the reboot thing. We got rebooted twice, so there might be less of a huzzah about it, but it’d be nice to do that again."

Futurama got what many would consider to be the perfect ending back in 2013, but chances are fans would be more than excited to see it return in some form in the near future.
