Futurama: The Planet Express Crew Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Bender
If Fry is seen as a problematic presence for Planet Express, then Bender should be described as disastrous.
Bender Bending Rodriguez is an utterly destructive robot, with a slew of vices that hold him back from being a positive member of the crew. But it is entirely down to this abrasive personality and dangerous behaviour that he is so fun to watch.
The bending unit is voiced phenomenally by John DiMaggio and often feels like a real reason for the show's success. He brings this dark edge to the product that truly delivers on the adult themes of the series whilst still containing plenty of immature humour to carry favour with viewers of all ages.
He may not have the same amount of development as the other characters, but he gets special attention drawn to him for being a robot. Traditionally sci-fi has depicted robotic assistants to be devoid of personality, but that is entirely not the case with Bender, which makes him not only stand out within the show, but the genre as a whole.
He is brash, overly dramatic, and full of energy, which is why he quickly became many people's favourite part of the series.
