Game Of Thrones: 10 Biggest Anti-Climaxes

4. Robb & The Northmen

I debated with myself over whether Robb Stark's demise was an anti-climax or not, after all he was given a death scene that surpasses all other moments to date. The Red Wedding is the ultimate shocking moment on modern TV, so in one sense, Robb's physical death was actually an incredible end. However, the ramifications of his death provided a major anti-climax to the entire North. Robb's men were butchered in the fields surrounding the Twins, they were slaughtered. Once the Red Wedding and Robb went down, nothing more was ever mentioned about the surviving northmen. We were left to assume that there were very few survivors and the majority were killed. S3 E9 was dramatic, it was incredible, but it stopped the Young Wolf dead in his tracks and effectively ended the Northern rebellion, despite the fact that they could've genuinely proven to be contenders for the Iron Throne.
