Game Of Thrones: 10 Biggest Anti-Climaxes

5. Stannis (Not Being) The Mannis

Sticking with the Baratheon boys, Stannis' storyline was built up over several seasons, and he was crushed in a few minutes. His audacious attempt to seize King's Landing was phenomenal to watch, but after that he chose to sail up the coast to the Wall. Again, his rescue of the Night's Watch was cool, but was it all necessary for his personal story? The road from Castle Black to Winterfell oversaw the slow, grumbling fall of Stannis, and while it was fairly cool to watch, his entire army was slaughtered during a 'fade to black'. It was a slow, grinding end to a major character, and an enormous anti-climax to see the rightful heir to the Iron Throne chopped up on a tree outside of Winterfell.
