Why It Was A Mistake: The character of Shae was altered considerably for the TV show. Originally in the novels, Shae was literally nothing more than a prostitute who slept her way through rich men and Tyrion was nothing more than another conquest. TV-Shae however was recharacterised to an exotic prostitute with a mysterious past and had slowly developed genuine feelings for Tyrion. Naturally, this gave TV-Shae a somewhat clumsy but far more dramatic arc that required someone who could convincingly portray Shae's journey from prostitute to genuine lover before knocking it out of the park with the character's final betrayal of Tyrion. Unfortunately the producers cast Sibel Kekilli, whose line delivery is forever stuck on 'awkward' or 'unsure'. Kekilli may have looked the part (and had enough acting chops to win a couple of German Oscars), but her performance here was just so one-note and so wooden that any scene beyond some dirty pillow talk seemed like it was well out of her ability. When it was time for Shae to kick the bucket, fans everywhere breathed a sigh of relief at the prospect of a Shae-less show. Who Shouldve Been Cast: This is a tough one since TV-Shae is so different to book-Shae but the experienced Katie McGrath or Eva Green could easily tap into the character's inner turmoil whilst looking hot.
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
