Game Of Thrones: 10 Characters Killed At The PERFECT Time
2. Jorah Mormont
Of course, Theon's journey wasn't the only one that needed to come to an end during The Long Night.
Ser Jorah Mormont - the man who fell in love with the mother of dragons, and advised and watched over her across the entirety of the show's run - fulfilled his promise to protect his queen in the end, going down facing countless hordes of the dead.
A disgraced knight trying to reclaim his honour, his own arc of redemption was completed with this selfless act and it truly made for one of the most tragic scenes in the show, to watch Daenerys weep over his dying body in the aftermath of the battle.
There's an argument to be made Mormont should have gone a couple of seasons previous (and we believed for a while he would after he succumbed to stone sickness), but he makes the cut here because it was only fitting he returned to his queen's side, and left this world in her arms, the only way he wanted to go.
As a result, his death plays a large role in a certain character's delve into madness...
