Game Of Thrones: 10 Darkest Moments The Show Left Out

9. Raid On Saltpans

Game of Thrones Bran Stark
HBO

When Arya first meets Jaqen H'ghar, way back in season two, he was caged with two other criminals, Biter and Rorge. We don't see a whole lot of these guys for the rest of the show. They pop up now and then, looking mean, and spouting profanity, before eventually encountering the Hound and Arya in the Riverlands. The Hound makes dog food of Biter and Arya sticks Rorge with the pointy end.

But these characters get up to some seriously heinous sh*t, that the show didn't touch on. They join a sellsword company, known as the Brave Companions, who at various times fight for both the Lannisters and the Starks.

After the war looks likes it's a done deal, however, the sellswords resign themselves to raiding the Riverlands and turning outlaw. Rumour soon spreads of a disturbing atrocity, in which the outlaws decimated the town of Saltpans. Women and young girls are raped and mutilated, and all the men are killed. A holy man has his tongue cut out, and one of the few survivors was a 12-year-old girl who had her nose and nipples cut off. And that's the dialled back version...

All this gets blamed on the Hound, as Rorge was wearing his distinctive helmet.
