Game Of Thrones: 10 Moments That Prove Stannis Was The Mannis

7€But Only Because It Was His Duty

Stannis never asked to be King of Westeros, rather it was a crown bestowed upon him when Ned sent the letter pertaining to Joffrey€™s true parentage. He bears it, not because he wants the power and the glory, but because he must. Everything he does is for duty, for what he believes is right, and he€™s willing to do whatever it takes. He is the only one who seems to truly understand what it means to rule the Seven Kingdoms, and to actually protect the realm. He knows that it isn€™t enough to simply sit on the Iron Throne, but that Westeros is going to need saving, and even though he may not want to, he accepts that is what he has to do.
