Game Of Thrones: 10 Questions We're Asking After 'Hardhome'

4. Is Anybody Going To Start Churning Out Valyrian Steel?

One thing we learned about white walkers is that they can be obliterated with Valyrian steel, and by the look on it's face, the walker wasn't expecting Jon to be wielding such a blade. Dragonglass and Valyrian steel are both confirmed killers of the undead leaders, so logic would dictate that there's going to be a race to stock up on the former, which is abundant on Stannis' island refuge of Dragonstone, though Valyrian steel is far harder to come across. Many of the major families in Westeros possess a Valyrian steel sword as an heirloom, but after that, the swords are extremely limited due to the incredibly complex - and magical - processes used to forge them. There are a tiny select group in Essos who can take one large Valyrian sword and re-forge it as two smaller blades, but the process to create the new metal has been lost. Will anybody be able to produce the steel again?
