Game Of Thrones: 10 Questions We're Asking After 'The Dance With Dragons'

Innocent? Sweet? Loveable? Prepare to be burned alive.

Game of Thrones is no stranger to controversy, and the show thrives on taboo subjects, daring to tread across a line that very few others would cross. Season 5, Episode 9 was no exception. Fans have grown used to the ninth episode of each season being the monumental peak of each season, with Ned Stark's execution (Season 1), the Battle of Blackwater Bay (Season 2), the Red Wedding (Season 3), and the epic wildling assault on Castle Black (Season 4) all featuring as part of the penultimate episodes of their respective seasons. Episode 8 of the current season seems to have broke the mould, providing some of the best scenes of the entire show, so nobody was expecting quite the same level of drama in consecutive weeks. But while there was no full-scale ice demon warfare in 'The Dance With Dragons,' fans were still subjected to some disturbing scenes including the brutal, burning sacrifice of little Shireen Baratheon, and Meryn Trant's arrival into Braavos where he offers up even more reasons for Arya to slit his throat. Things were on quiet on The Wall this week, but there's certainly tension there, while Jaime and Bronn had a relatively relaxed day in Dorne as Myrcella was granted a return to King's Landing with Prince Trystane Martell. Meanwhile everything boiled over in Meereen as the Sons Of The Harpy returned in greater numbers than ever, butchering spectators at the fighting pits, while Jorah saved Daenerys' life before Drogon burst in to save the day. But the mayhem didn't stop there, as the Mother of Dragons hopped on the scaly back of her 'child' and took to the skies.

These last two episodes have provided stark reminders that the ice and fire are growing forces in the world, and will surely play a huge part in the show€™s eventual last-lap, but for now, Season 5 is charging towards its end. Let€™s take a look at some of the major talking points from another hour of tension.
