Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons It’s The Best TV Show Ever
10. The Politics
Who knew that fantasy politics could be this gripping? With a plot that continually manipulates us into thinking we know things which we most certainly don't striving to predict what's going to unfold becomes something of an addiction, and an oddly competitive one at that. There's certainly a sense of voyeurism experienced by us the viewers as we watch intricately developed characters lie, cheat and murder their way to power. There's the feeling that we're close enough to the action to be knowledgeable, only for that to be stripped away every episode by some quite despicable antagonists. The ongoing battle for political power is also something relatable; just as we in the UK and US witness inept political parties jostle for pole position, the nameless, faceless civilians of Westeros suffer the same fate. Root as we may for the likes of Daenerys, it's undeniable that she (among others) has questionable morals and inconsistent decision-making skills. It's this authenticity that sets GOT apart as a piece of fantasy though, as like in the real world, everyone is subject to flaws of character.
