Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons It’s The Best TV Show Ever

4. The Complexity

One of the things that strikes all newcomers to GOT is the sheer scale of the world which Martin created. With every passing episode new characters are introduced and new regions are unveiled, but that isn't to say anything is included just for the sake of magnitude. Every new character who offers something significant to the story is well developed. There aren't any one-dimensional characters of consequence in GOT (bar Hodor), and this is aided by a passionate cast who clearly buy into the world, its people and the vision of the producers. The complexity isn't just in the GOT characters, but within its plot, too. Just when you begin to believe you've spotted a thread, you're proved wrong as psychopaths prevail, key figures are killed off and seemingly 'bad' characters find a decent moral compass. If one thing is for certain it's that concepts of good and bad aren't polarised, but merge continuously in beautiful, ordered chaos.
