Game Of Thrones: 10 Smartest Changes HBO Made From The Books
5. Jon's Resurrection
When Jon was betrayed and killed by his brothers of the Night's Watch it was a huge shock especially after all he had been through helping to save hundreds of innocents from the forces of the undead.
They couldn't possibly be killing off another hero, not before we learnt the significance of his heritage or before the White Walkers made their big attack, but that seemed to be exactly what they did.
People may have been suspecting his return but thanks to Kit Harrington's insistence that he was not going to be in the show anymore everyone was left feeling uncertain.
Thankfully every GOT viewer heaved a sigh of relief when Melisandre rocked up and wove her spells bringing him back from the big sleep. Even then they kept viewers guessing right up to the last possible moment as to whether her spell had even worked.
We still don't know his fate in the books, it's only implied that he's been killed, so for all we know he may end up walking it off, they're made of sterner stuff up North. Permanent death does seem unlikely, for the same reasons mentioned above, how he returns to world of the living though is anyones' guess.
How they love to torture us.
