Game Of Thrones: 10 Storylines That Should Have Been Cut

2. Dany's Soft Reset

After Dany was trapped by diplomacy for so long, it was nice to see her actually getting something to do when the Sons Of The Harpy attacked and she had to get Drogon out of cold storage. But then she flew off, Drogon got huffy and she ended up captured by the Dothraki and sent as a prisoner to Vaes Dothrak and forced to rise up once more and claim more followers.

It was nothing more than a soft reset of everything in Meereen and manufactured tension for the sake of trying to rescue her storyline, which had become seriously misguided by this point. And it wasn't even subtle how much of a memory wipe it was designed to be, inspired by the weird logic that Dany had to be victimised to remember that her real goal was the Iron Throne, and not just leading lots of miserable people in a foreign land.

There was no need to double down on the drama in the wake of the Sons Of The Harpy, and all reintroducing the other Dothraki did was make them look like place-holders who the show didn't really have much confidence in.
