Game Of Thrones: 10 Storylines That Should Have Been Cut

1. Dorne

Remember those days when you were excited about the appearance of the Sand Snakes and the pay-off of Ellaria Sand's boiling vengeance? It seems a long, long time ago now.

But back when Oberyn Martell's head smush was still warm, the idea of seeing what his family would do to the Lannisters with their famously big army and their angry pod of killer girls was delicious. And then the reality was horribly, eye-gougingly boring.

The Dorne sojourn was a disaster to such an extent that the show-makers seemed to simply give up on it and wrap it up hilariously quickly by having Ellaria kill them all off, including Myrcella. In reality, she should have been allowed to kill the young Lannister and then align with Dany without us having to go and spend several dusty episodes in her homeland.

And the really sorry thing is, the show wouldn't have changed even slightly if we'd only got to meet the Sand Snakes and Ellaria around Westeros. Even then, Tyenne's death was only just worth it for the Snakes at all.
