1. Break It Into Two Seasons

Alright, let’s call a spade a spade here. Over 1,000,000 fans do not like the conclusion to Game of Thrones so much that they want an actual petition to somehow get it remade. There are people literally dying all over a planet that is going to roast us all to death in the near future but, whatever, you do you.

If people don’t like this as a conclusion, and on some level the Benioff and Weiss must have suspected they wouldn’t, they shouldn’t have made this the conclusion. Build the entire season around defending Winterfell and the war between the living and dead, and leave the story about who will eventually sit on the Iron Throne until next year.

You give Big George time to finish at least one of the books - possibly even both if the reports that they’re being worked on concurrently - and give absolutely everything the time and the space it needs to flourish. You can even do them both in 6 episodes if that’s your thing.
