9. Turn Down All Wedding Invitations

As you may recall, Robb Stark and his mother, Catelyn, are massacred by Walder Frey and his men at a wedding feast in season three. Months later, I can't help but wonder if things would have turned out differently if they had simply given Walder a lame excuse why they coudn't attend, like there was a bannerman who needed beheading or a crazy sister who needed help weaning her son, or even just not bothered to RSVP at all. Naturally, after witnessing the disastrous experience of Robb and Catelyn when they accepted the Frey wedding invitation, I'm looking at the invite I just got for my cousin Erma's nuptials in a different light. I haven't heard from Erma in years, not since that awkward moment when she overheard me call her a "slutty horseface" so this sudden attempt at reconciliation has me a little suspicious. And the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that Erma did not invite me simply to share in the joy of her special day. Is it so out of the realm of possibility that she's been waiting this long to exact her revenge? One just can't be too careful, can one? So it looks like I'll be sending my regrets.
