Game Of Thrones: 10 Ways Season 5 Spoilt The Winds Of Winter

8. The Lack Of Ironborns

The Ironborns or Dorne? Dorne or the Ironborns? They€™re two plot lines from A Feast of Crows that prove extremely divisive, some tend to love one and hate the other, some like both, and many find them each far too long with not enough happening. The showrunners could only find room for one in season 5, and in the end it was the story of the Martells they chose to follow.

While that decision wasn€™t exactly a great one in hindsight - the Dorne story was the weakest part of the season - it also means there€™s a lot of speculation as to just where the Ironborn plot is headed.

A casting call for season 6 seems to indicate that Euron Greyjoy will be a part of the show next year, meaning it could pick up his story, but the Kingsmoot and the other brothers of Balon Greyjoy look like missing out once again. In particular, this means that Victarion€™s journey to meet Daenerys, with a marriage proposal from Euron, may well end up going nowhere of real importance.
