Game Of Thrones: 11 Characters Who've Changed Most Since Season 1

Then

Prince Charming from Shrek, so much so that looking back at images from that first season - such as the one on the left above - my eyes don't believe it's not actually animated. He's cocky, and a total dick; the incestuous lover of Cersei who ambushed Ned Stark, puts a blade through the eye of Jory Cassel, and of course pushes Bran, then just a small child, from the window of a high tower to his potential death.

Now

Show Jaime hasn't had the same sort of nuanced character arc that his book equivalent has (and more's the pity), but he has still managed to have some strong (if slightly muddled) development since the days of pushing Bran from a window.

He became a more sympathetic character in Season 3, saving Brienne from being raped in his first truly decent act (that we then knew of), before losing his hand. It robbed him of so much of his identity, but the character who was just a dick became the subject of our pity. Then he cried in the bath and everyone started to love him, as we realised that he became a Kingslayer to safe the kingdom, sacrificing his reputation in the process.

His rape of Cersei in Season 4 set things way back unfortunately, and since then he's been a character torn between his love and loyalty for her and wanting to be better and gain redemption. That's something he may fully achieve in Season 7, since there's a good chance he'll be the one to end his sister's life.
