Game Of Thrones: 12 Best Moments From Season 5

2. Cersei's Walk Of Shame

Cersei Lannister is a woman used to getting what she wants, regardless of the cost to others. That is a major part of her story in season 5, and something that comes back to bite her at the end. It was Cersei who granted the High Sparrow a position of power within King€™s Landing, and Cersei who delivered Loras and Margaery Tyrell to him. This time, though, things didn€™t go all her own way. People in glass houses shouldn€™t throw stones, and Cersei just brought a boulder down on herself. After being broken down to the point of confessing her sins, the next step is to atone for them in front of her people. This meant her much anticipated Walk of Shame, and it played out absolutely brilliantly. Her head shorn and clothes stripped away, she was forced to walk through the streets of King's Landing, being verbally abused, having things thrown at her, and being completely humiliated. Although parts of it were shot from a distance, and other clips were actually a stunt double, the close-ups of Lena Headey's face really conveyed everything she was feeling. This was a moment Cersei undoubtedly deserved, and yet you felt sorry for her as well. It was in essence just a scene of someone walking, but it was intense and shocking, difficult to watch at times, yet you couldn€™t take your eyes away from the screen.
