Game Of Thrones: 12 Best Moments From Season 5

3. Riding Drogon

If fans have waited a long time for Daenerys to meet Tyrion, they€™ve perhaps been waiting even longer to see her ride a dragon. That moment finally arrived at the end of Episode 9. After Jorah€™s victory during the Great Games, the Sons of the Harpy launch their biggest and most direct attack yet, emerging at random within the crowds to mercilessly slaughter those in their way. Their ultimate target, of course, is Daenerys. She is herded into the middle of Daznak€™s Pit, along with Tyrion, Missandei, Jorah, Daario and a handful of Unsullied as the Harpies begin to swarm. It looks as though she€™s accepting her fate, until there€™s a noise from the sky and down comes Drogon to save his Mother. He kills swathes of Harpies by breathing fire, and tears a few more apart, before being wounded by some of their spears. It€™s at this point Daenerys approaches her €˜son€™, who eventually recognises her and she is able to climb on his back and fly away from the battle. Not great for the people she€™s just abandoning, but definitely a great moment for fans of the series to see something that has been hoped for since she emerged from the flames at the end of Season 1.
